El Questro Wilderness Park has employed the services of Government authorities, area specialists and its own Wilderness Park employees to collate data on the local flora, fauna and cultural heritage, including the pioneering history of our forefathers.
This information is now available to all El Questro Wilderness Park visitors. It is presented in a number of ways, including informative signage and a comprehensive series of "trail fact sheets”. This way trail walkers and other visitors to the property have the choice of either joining an El Questro Ranger on a guided walk, or having the information presented on a sheet which correlates with markers posted at points of interest on the trails and generally around the Wilderness Park.
Although extremely worthwhile, these improvements resulted in significant financial outlay by the Wilderness Park. Therefore, in order to recoup these costs, El Questro has introduced a fee in the form of a Wilderness Park Permit.
El Questro is committed to protecting Australia’s unique ecology, sensitively developing new areas of interest, providing visitor information, and creating experiences that you will never forget.
Permits are available at all El Questro outlets. The Wilderness Park Permit prices are:
- Adult - $20 per person (valid 7 days)
- Children aged 12 and under - complimentary
Wilderness Park Permit funds are used to:
- Supplement the maintenance of over 100km of roads and tracks
- Provide and maintain eco-toilets
- Undertake walking trail maintenance
- Remove litter, rubbish and un-natural items from our environment
- Provide information, safety requirements and signage for our visitors
