Q. How do I get there?
A. Regular flights are available from all major Australian capital cities to Kununurra via Darwin, Broome and Perth with Qantas, Air North or Skywest. We operate 2 daily scheduled vehicle transfers from Kununurra to The Homestead. Read more on getting to The Homestead.
Q. If I cannot get a flight from Broome or Darwin to Kununurra on the day I require, can you arrange a private charter at an additional cost?
A. Absolutely. The Reservations department can arrange a private charter from either Broome or Darwin straight into El Questro Station airstrip which will alleviate further time wasted with transfers from Kununurra. This is at an additional cost and we would be happy to supply you with all of the information. Contact us for more details.
Q. What transfer Options are available from Kununurra to El Questro Homestead?
A. The options are varied and include light aircraft, Helicopter, 4WD scheduled transfers and private transfers. We also offer a 2 hour scenic flight over the Bungle Bungles as a transfer option to/from the resort.
Q. What time is check in / check out?
A. Check- in to the Homestead and use of the facilities is available from 9:00 am with accommodation being accessible by noon. Due to the boutique nature of the Homestead check-out from your accommodation is at 10:00 am. Guests are welcome to use the resort facilities until their designated transfer time. When possible, every effort will be made to offer an early check in or late check out from your accommodation.
Q. What is the temperature?
A. From May through to the beginning of October, El Questro very rarely gets rain and enjoys warm, sunny days. The winter months of June, July and August see daytime temperatures between the high 20's and low 30's and the nights cool off to between 8 and 18°C. April, May, September and October have warmer temperatures all around, when day time highs can be in excess of 35°C and night time lows are between 15 and 25°C. April and October can be particularly humid with some chance of rain.
Q. Do I need to pre-book any of the tours?
A. While most tours do not require that you book in advance of arrival, some take limited numbers or sell out in peak season and pre-booking of the following is highly advisable: Horse riding, Explosion Gorge and Branco's Lookout, all Helicopter tours and scenic flights, El Questro's Big Day Out, Sunrise breakfast and all tours or flights to the Bungle Bungles, Mitchell Falls, Argyle Diamond Mine or the Ord River. Q. What should I bring and what is the dress standard?
A. The 'must take' list include a hat, sun glasses, sun screen, walking shoes, swim wear and shorts. Sweaters or jumpers are needed for winter months. The dress code is smart casual.
Q. Do you have any communications there?
A. The phone number to the Homestead is 61 8 9161 4042. Faxes can be sent to 61 8 9161 4043. Mobile phone coverage is unavailable on all of El Questro and your accommodation does not have a phone, television or Internet access. The library has a computer that all guests may use to access the internet through a broadband connection. You may also connect your personal devices to the wireless connection through out most areas of the house. A telephone is available for guest use, outgoing call charges apply. A television with Foxtel and local stations is also in the library.
Q. Why am I required to provide my Credit card details at time of booking?
A. Your credit card details are taken to guarantee the reservation. No charges are processed at the time of booking.
