El Questro Visitor Permit charges
El Questro is committed to protecting Australia's unique ecology, sensitively developing new areas of interest, providing visitor information, and creating experiences that you will never forget. A compulsory El Questro Visitor Permit must be purchased for every adult (13 years and older), at $20 per person and is valid for 7 days.
Travel Insurance
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRAVEL INSURANCEOur remote and unique locations make for the perfect holiday destination. It is important to note that travelling to paradise comes with risks that are out of our control, and yours. For this reason, we highly recommend that all of our guests purchase travel insurance prior to travelling. Please take the time to review your travel insurance policy to ensure that you are covered in the unlikely event that your travel plans are disrupted due to weather or acts of god.
What to Bring and What to Wear
Make sure you bring swimwear so you can enjoy a swim in one of the beautiful gorges or thermal springs or the Emma Gorge Resort swimming pool. A hat and sunscreen are also recommended and don’t forget your camera!Relaxed, casual clothing, suitable for exploring. Make sure you bring a sturdy pair of hiking boots or suitable walking shoes to wear on the many walks available. Light, loose clothing is recommended for longer treks and fishing. You will also need trousers and enclosed shoes or boots if you’re going horse riding. El Questro experiences average monthly temperatures of 33 degrees Celsius so you shouldn’t need to pack clothing to keep you warm. In the winter months of June, July and August, night time temperatures can fall to as low as 6 degrees. Please ensure you bring suitable warm clothes for night time as well as early mornings.
Mobile Phone Reception & Internet Access
There is no mobile phone reception at Emma Gorge (a payphone is available for guest use, phone cards can be purchased at Reception). Wi-Fi can be purchased online with a credit card whilst at El Questro.
Credit Card surcharge
Please note if settling your account on departure by credit card, a 0.8% surcharge applies for Visa & MasterCard payments and a 0.9% surcharge applies for American Express & Diners Club payments.
